The construction of the Salvador-Itaparica Bridge, which is scheduled to take 48 consecutive months, will begin with the expropriation and demolition of the areas in conflict with the project. Concurrently with these activities, the allocation stage for the construction sites and the survey of registered interferences that could impact the project’s execution will begin, in line with the records of public service concessionaires.

The Project comprises the following phases:

Section 1 - Access Roads in Salvador

Construction of structures that make up the access roads in Salvador, between the neighborhoods of Calçada and Água de Meninos and a series of overpasses, including two tunnels running parallel to the existing ones in the Via Expressa.

Section 2 - Salvador - Itaparica Island Bridge

The construction of Salvador-Itaparica Island bridge will start immediately after the highway system in Salvador is finished. The bridge will be 12.4 km long. This section of the project is divided into three stages: The approach section on Itaparica island will be 4.6 km long, the approach section in Salvador 6.9 km long, and the cable-stayed section 0.9 km long and 85m above sea level.

Section 3 - Access Road on Itaparica Island

The Itaparica highway system spans approximately 30 km, from the Salvador-Itaparica bridge to the Funil bridge via a newly projected road. This includes the construction of overpasses integrated into three intersections.

Section 4

A section of BA-001, from the vicinity of Cacha Prego to the approach of the Funil bridge, will be repaired and duplicated.
